Both robots are adept in removing dirt and dust particles on carpets and hard floors, and they can easily maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ does not have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we have tested. It could be stuck on power cords or socks, and may have trouble navigating between different surfaces, like carpet and hardwood.
iRobot suggests that you clear areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, which includes putting away any clutter or toys it may come across. It's also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter clean so they don't become clogged with dirt. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or the battery is empty it will return to its docking station, automatically empties its dirt into the station's external dustbin and continues cleaning the area where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for approximately an hour and a half of continuous use, and takes around three hours to fully recharge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line, and it comes with the latest technology. It's self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most significant feature is the self-emptying bin. This removes the need for routine maintenance.
The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can direct your robot using the app or via voice.
The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin, which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines and move around the room, and even vacuum an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. After being connected, to give voice commands to the i7+, like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world full of vacuums that are cordless and look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model is a sports car. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for most households and can fit perfectly next to a coffee table or on shelves where you can wave it around like an enchanted tool.
The V10 is powered with seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that can provide energy that lasts for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then releases fresh air into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpet to collect large particles and fine dust. The main drawback of the V10 is its sluggish run time. The tests conducted by CR show that its claims to run up to 60 minutes are not true. This is an average and not a remarkable run time for the battery-powered cordless vacuum. That's still enough run time to vacuum the majority of a typical-sized home however, it's not enough to cover every spot (though the second time around usually does the trick). This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeably superior on low-pile floor carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums, the 694 is an affordable model that's a good option for those who don't want to spend too much money on a robot. It could pick up all kinds of debris and sizes during our tests and would often go over the same area several times for a thorough clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach corners and the edges of walls.

In our tests in our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and removed 86% of dog hair (on carpet). The app makes it possible to manually steer the robot when needed. My living room rug for example, has a darkly-colored border that can trip up some other robots.
