1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO
The iRobot Roomba i3+ is a great robot vacuum that has many smart features that make it easier to maintain. Its automatic bin emptying is one of the most efficient features we've seen on the form of a robot and it's compatible with both hard floors and carpets. It's also simple to set up and operate, with the app guiding you step-by-step through the procedure. Another impressive feature is the ability to return to where it began in our tests. It did this for 77 minutes in one cleaning before running out of battery.
Contrary to other robovacs we've tested, the i3+ EVO comes with an automatic emptying bin that dumps debris into an external dirt compartment on its charging base when it's full. This helps reduce the need for hands-on maintenance and keeps the i3+ EVO from overfilling, however it still needs to be manually cleaned after each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO's inner dust bin holds 2.4L of debris that is more than enough to get it through several cleaning sessions before needing to replace it.
Like the i7model, this model also uses the latest floor sensors to create maps and navigate in neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only store one map, whereas the i7 can store multiple. The map of the i7 can be used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones, but not for the i3+ EVO.
The i3+ EVO is more effective of removing debris from the surface in comparison to other robovacs that we have reviewed, but it is not the best at cleaning edges and corners. It is also less gentle on furniture despite being relatively silent. It was quite rough on furniture, since it forced chairs away. It also made some collisions with the sides of the bed.
2. Black & Decker Q5 Pro
If you're looking to expand your robot vacuum collection or are just starting out with the Q5 Pro is a great option. It packs serious power, advanced navigation and a user-friendly automation into a sleek and stylish design for a reasonable price. It's the best model for the money you can get at the moment and is even better than other Roborock models which are much more expensive in many ways.
This robot is fantastic in cleaning floors that are bare, and its avoidance tech helps it to steer away from furniture legs or other obstacles. It also excels on carpets and scores a high score for our navigation tests. The only issue is that it's more raucous than the other models we test, and it doesn't fare similarly in our user satisfaction and predicted reliability assessments.
The Q5 Pro comes with a large dust container of 770ml, meaning that you won't need to empty it as often as other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240-minute running time is also a lot when in comparison to other 2-in-1 robots that we tested. If the battery is low, it returns automatically to its dock where it recharges and resumes cleaning from where it was when it stopped. You can control the Q5 Pro using the app or voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
This is one of the first robots we've seen to incorporate 3D mapping. This along with other advancements, helped it perform exceptionally well in our tests for vacuuming and mopping tests. It is possible to schedule cleanings and create no-go zones. You can also see the battery's status. The app is simple to use, but it isn't compatible with Apple HomeKit and that feature is slated to be added by 2025. Apple changed its footnote on its website in early November to reflect that the feature was delayed until 2025. HomeKit is not compatible with other robots, but Siri Shortcuts are.

It also did an excellent job avoiding obstacles like furniture. It also finds its way to the base station if it is unable to recharge its batteries during cleaning.

The iMop is much easier to clean and maintain than a typical robot cleaner, which could be an important benefit for busy households.
